Delta Green God's Teeth

Delta Green is a grim game. God's Teeth doubled down on that, and I loved every minute I played. Challenging and weird, with moment of frisson that I will never forget.

Sadly, my old group broke up before we finished the campaign.

Thanks to Midjourney, I threw together some images of our game, hopefully spoiler-free.

Day 04: Last RPG Purchased This Year

My most recent RPG purchase would be "The Dread of Dynwel", a 5e adventure written by one of my friends. I don't play 5e anymore, but I would come out of retirement if someone were to run this.

Here are some Midjourney images I made for our Delta Green: OBSERVER EFFECT game. Anyone could do the same in in half an hour, but I honestly don't know what else to do with this blog.

Day 03: First RPG Purchased This Year

Vampire 5e.

My game group played the fuck out of VtM 25 years ago, so when James told me that he wanted to give 5e a try, he had my attention. And Renegade (or Onyx Path or whoever) had my money.

The Good: Hunger mechanic. No longer felt like we were playing Dark Supers like we did back in our 1e/2e days.

The Bad: Lots of little subsystems to keep track of. The game could use a bit of streamlining/house ruling.

But we had a lot of fun, and it's on the rotation for future games.

#RPGaDAY2023 Day 2

 Day 02: First RPG Gamemaster

Sadly, I cannot recall the name of the kid who ran my first game of D&D. I know it was fall of 1981 because a) I was in sixth grade, and b) the DM was very proud of his brand new Fiend Folio.

I was given a character (a human fighter), we encountered a carbuncle in a forest. Greedy little shits that we were, we tried to pry the gem from its forehead and were forced to kill the poor thing when it objected. I vividly remember standing up and pantomiming precisely how I was using my spear to dispatch the little armadillo.

I don;t remember anything else from that session, but I babbled excitedly the entire ride home and have remained a hopeless addict for the past 42 years.

Day 01: First RPG Played (This Year)

I played (ran) a game of Call of Cthulhu for my wife.

Ruby Stone, wealthy dilettante and gal about town

Unfortunately, Ruby was last seen convalescing under private care in Arkham, Massachusetts.
